Cycling 'the salient' 

This Thematic Cycle route explores clockwise the ‘Ypres Salient'.  
The 'ypres salient' cycling route links the view of the landscape nowadays with historical facts by means of authentic and actual aerial photographs. The route leads visitors on a themed tour around the first World War battlefields of Ypres and it s famous salient.

The following war sites are part of the route:
* John McCrae site - Essex Farm Cemetery
* Yorkshire Trench & Dug-out
* Caesar's Nose
* Mouse Trap Farm
* Bellewaerde Ridge
* 't Hoge
* Hill 62
* Hill 60 and the Caterpillar
